Here’s an insight to Colins’ inspiration behind these 3 prints.
I love Wellington, particularly the cultural vibrancy of Cuba Street. Wellingtons beloved and iconic stretch of cafes, restaurants, galleries and boutiques always makes me think of good food and live music.
Slow Boat Records and San Fran are purveyors of fine music both recorded and live, and for me epitomize the best in music locally, nationally and internationally.
One of my favourite Wellington buildings is the wonderful green Laundry building on the corner of Cuba and Able Smith Streets. When it was re-invented as a self-proclaimed “juke joint & freehouse” I was well stoked the colour scheme and awesome signage was not only untouched but embraced as a theme.
